German Wirehaired Pointers
Ripsnorter Kennel has bred German Wirehaired Pointers for 45+ years and has had some of the top-winning dogs of all time. Currently, the top three Top Producing Sires of all time (and another in the Top 10) come from Ripsnorter. We also have had top producers in the United Kingdom and Australia. Our dogs have competed very successfully in the show ring, field, obedience, and agility. We strive for beauty and brains.

For years, we have been known for our achievements in the show ring. Over the past decade, since Jeff retired, we have had the time to put more emphasis on competing in NAVHDA tests rather than just hunting as a hobby. Jeff is now teaching his grandkids about training and testing the dogs. Over the years, we have produced many dogs that have titled in conformation, obedience, hunt tests, NAVHDA, agility, lure coursing, scent trials, etc. We proudly have bred and own one of only six VC/CH GWP in the history of the breed.

Whatever you want a GWP to do they will do it. They are classified as a versatile hunting dog because they hunt and retrieve for feather or fur on land and water. We believe it is the breeds innate desire to please, no matter what they are asked to do, that makes them an ideal choice for any endeavor. Even if you don't want anything more than company on the couch a Wire is the perfect choice.
